Honestly, I would just take it to Tombs. I've seen lower leveled pets and besides they're just supposed to be corpse fodder so if it dies nobody will care.

if you do want to level it up i find the best place to go is the area outside druid's outlook. there are lots of lvl 17 devourers, thornstalkers and wind riders for you and your pet to gain experience in, but it's also an easy enough area to solo without much difficulty, so you don't need henchmen who would reduce your experience gain.

This is a very detailed guide on pets, basically anything you would need to know about them. I don't know if your pet is evolved since you failed to state that but depending on your style it would be worth looking into dropping your current pet and getting a new one if your current is unevolved. Just take a glance if you don't know what I'm talking about. Good luck.

my brother is doin alot of MM in tombs. he says that the lower lvl is a pet the more minions he has, so since then as soon as my wolf gets to 15 i get rid of it and get a lvl 5. evry time i change pets minion army seems to be bigger then when my pet is at 15.

If you're only using a pet as fodder, yes, a low level pet will die more quickly and more often than a higher leveled pet since not only does it have less HP, but its armor is level based as well. ...but I really hate the idea of only using the pet for its dead body. If anything, at least get a Dire so the pet can deal some nice damage while dying. If you're a necro MM though, I guess I'll just have to blame it on those necros not being able to appreciate a good pet.
Also, @ Nivryx the unevolved pets are sometimes desireable as they're easy to get and have the stats of Elder. Still, thanks for linkin' to the guide.
